Read about our Basic beliefs
God
We believe that there is one eternally existing person who is God. He is the Father of Jesus Christ. He ultimately will rule over all when the eternal Kingdom of God is established on the earth. (Isa. 44:6-8; Eph. 4:6; 1 Cor. 8:6; 15:28; Rev. 5:10)
Jesus
We believe that Jesus is God’s only Son, born of God’s Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary. Thus Jesus is both God’s Son and Son of Man. God’s plan from eternity was made flesh in the person of Jesus, who perfectly represented God, his Father. Jesus is the promised Savior, the Messiah. Jesus died on a cross for the sins of all men. He himself was mortal and remained in the grave for three days until God gave Jesus immortality by raising him from the dead. Jesus then ascended to heaven and now sits at the right hand of God interceding for Christians. God is going to send Jesus back to this earth to establish His Kingdom and to begin God’s future plan for all eternity. (Luke 1:35; John 3:16; 20:31; 1 John 5:5; Acts 7:55).
The Holy Spirit
We believe that God shows His power and Himself through His Holy Spirit. That influence of the Spirit of God is evident in the gifts given to individual Christians that empowers them to perform their ministries. (1 Cor. 12; Rom 12; Eph 4). As further demonstration of the Spirit’s presence, evidence should be seen in each individual’s life in regards to their actions and attitudes. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control should be evident in believers’ lives. (Gal. 5:22, 23)
Salvation
In order to have eternal life, an individual must believe in the message and plan of God which first and foremost includes Jesus Christ as the only answer; turn around or repent from his acknowledged sin; be water baptized for the forgiveness of those sins; and to live a Christian life under God’s authority. (Acts 2:38; 8:12; 17:30, 31; Phil. 2:12)
The Bible
We believe that God inspired people to write down his thoughts, plan, and intentions in words understandable to mankind. His perfect will did not allow errors to come into the Bible and it is a document trustworthy in every respect. (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Tim 3:16, 17).
Life
We believe that when God formed the first man, Adam, from the earth, He then gave him His breath of life which enabled man to live. When a man dies, that divine spark that empowers life goes back to God. Man in death is without thought, and remains in the grave until Jesus’ return to this earth. At that time, Christ will raise and reward Christians with immortal and incorruptible life. (Gen. 2:7; Eccl. 3:20; 9:5, 10; John 5:28, 29; 1 Cor. 15:50-55)
The Future
Jesus will return to the earth and every eye will see him. Christians will be rewarded with citizenship in the Kingdom of God. Jesus will reign on this earth for 1,000 years in preparation for eternity. After a final rebellion which Jesus will conquer, he will turn over the Kingdom to God, His Father, who will reign on this earth for eternity. (Matt. 25:30, 31; Acts 1:11; 1 Thes. 4:16; Rev. 20:4-10; 21:3)
Prayer
We believe that God has opened an avenue of communication directly to Himself for people. In this way, Christians come to Him as a child to a father and believe God answers prayer. (Mark 11:24; Phil. 4:6)
The Church
We believe that the church is the body of believers who are called to walk together, follow Jesus, and make disciples. (Matt. 16:13-20; 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47)
